Supervised Exercise Support

Kinesiology Exercise Programs

Kinesiology exercise programs are for people who need guided support to build strength, improve movement, progress exercises, and feel more confident with activity.

Who this is for

Kinesiology may be helpful if you have exercises to work on but need more support putting them into practice. It may also be a good fit if you are recovering from injury or surgery, managing a long-term condition, rebuilding confidence, or working toward a specific strength, balance, fitness, or return-to-activity goal.

Programs are one-on-one and exercise-focused, giving you time to practise movements properly, ask questions, and progress at a pace that makes sense for you.

What programs may include

Your kinesiologist will guide you through an exercise program based on your goals, current ability, and any recommendations from your physiotherapist or other care provider.

Programs may include:

  • supervised strengthening exercises
  • balance and coordination work
  • mobility and flexibility exercises
  • core control and movement retraining
  • conditioning and endurance work
  • return-to-work or return-to-activity preparation
  • support with confidence, pacing, and consistency
  • progression of a home exercise program

The focus is on helping you understand what you are doing, why it matters, and how to perform each exercise safely and effectively.

How it fits with physiotherapy

Kinesiology can be used on its own or as part of a coordinated care plan.

Kinesiology is usually focused on supervised exercise, program progression, and helping you build the strength, control, and confidence to keep moving forward.

Kinesiology may be recommended when extra exercise support would help you make progress between physiotherapy appointments, or when 1:1 supervised exercise is the most appropriate way to help you recover.

If you need assessment, diagnosis, hands-on treatment, or care for a new or changing injury, physiotherapy may be a better starting point.

What to expect

Your session will focus on movement and exercise. Your kinesiologist will review your goals, current program, comfort level, and any relevant history before guiding you through exercises.

You can expect coaching, correction, and progression throughout the session. Exercises may be adjusted based on your symptoms, confidence, energy level, or goals.

The aim is to help you feel more capable with your program, more confident in your movement, and better prepared to continue exercising outside the clinic.
